Tudor Cisu, originally from Romania and raised primarily in Syracuse, New York, has been with JYI since June of 2009. A 3rd year at the University of Virginia, Tudor will graduate in 2012 with degrees in Mathematics, Biology, and Astronomy. From his junior year in high school, Tudor has done research projects studying peptide translocation, cauda equina spinal repair, cardiac modeling, cardiovascular progenitors, and most recently, molecular pathways involved in atherosclerosis. Outside of school, work, and research, he spends his time playing Ultimate Frisbee, watching hockey, idolizing Carl Sagan, and empowering his mind with TED. Tudor intends to pursue an MD/PhD after college, and hopefully a career in studying cardiovascular stem cell biology thereafter.
